Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hi All,
Just wondering what software I need to program a TK760HG from the 139.00mhz frequencies up to 174.00mhz? I have the KPG-56D software, and although I have not tried to enter frequencies below 148.00mhz the software states this is the range.....148.00 to 174.00. I'm in Canada, and the frequencies I want are all below 148.00.
Thanks.

Just type it in, the FPU will give you an error message, just click OK. I don't know if a 760G in the 148 to 174 will go that low, you will probably have to re-align the radio if the VCOs don't lock and the front end would need some tunning. If you are using freqs up to 174 you will probably not have good RX at the edges.

TK-760G is a 148-174MHz radio, the TK-760GK2 is 136-162MHz. You more than likely will need the right radio. The software MAY take it, but the radio won't lock that low. The one I had would go out of lock around 144.

If you want to program RCMP, don't bother. They are now using P25 CAI with full time AES256 encryption on their 139.xxxx and 141.xxxx channels in BC.

If you want to add MOTI or BCEHS, Look at something like a TK7180 or a NX700 that properly covers 136-174MHz. Using a half wave will allow you to use the RR, LD and LADD channels and still monitor those other services. The good news is that you can use the same programming cable and microphone for both TK7180 and NX700. There is also a remote separation kit available for those mobiles as well.
