Programming HELP

I have a Uniden BXD396XT and have downloaded the information from Radio Reference for several systems in my area all show in the labels but when scanning say "searching for control channel" what did I do incorrectly?

It would be helpful if we knew some more information- like precisely what system you are trying to hear, and where you are (county/state is fine) - however that message suggests that the control channel for that system is too weak for the scanner to latch onto.

You need to use a site that is physically closer to you, which would likely have a more reliable signal level on the control channel...Mike

The systems you have chosen are not in range from the sound of things. Assuming everything is right in RR and you downloaded and set things up correctly.

Turn off attenuation if that is on, or use a better antenna.

"Finding Control Channel" means the scanner has locked on a Talkgroup ID, but cannot find the control channel or frequency associated with that TGID.

There are numerous reasons why this would happen. Some of which are, the correct site isn't programmed correctly, is locked out and, as noted above, is too far from the scanner.

A little more information on where you are, which system you are attempting to monitor and if possible, posting your program file might help us to get you on the right track.
