If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Programming HT1250 and CDM750 radios

Hello,
Looking for assistance with programming. Recently started programming and have been able to program XPR4350 and CM200d without issue. My issue has been with the CDM750 and HT1250 radios. I have tried to program with CPS and CPS 2.0. Each time I read the radios, it says the radios are undetectable. Each time the radios are on and connections are checked. Am I using the wrong cables? Is the software too new for the old radios? Not sure when the radios were programmed last, as I got them from an auction site.

Any help would be appreciated!

CDM/HT series radios are ancient by todays standards and definitely do not use MotoTRBO software. You need Waris series software, HVN9025 R6.12.09? I think was the last release..

And a 32-bit OS like XP or Vista. A 32-bit Windows 7 may work but not sure. I'm a tad foggy on if you need a RIB or not. Something tells me probably not just a USB serial adapter with a Prolific Driver. It's been well over a decade or so for me the last time I programmed a HT/CDM Series radio.

I do have the software and cables so if you need me to program your radios I can do that for you.

I have the R6.11.10 version with wideband. I can't find my CD to try it on my Windows 10 and 11. I think my version must be only a 32-bit program

Also, if I recall correctly, very old firmware won’t allow you to use a ribless cable. Have to use a RIB for those.
