• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

My new G5 will be arriving today. I previously had a G4 but it got stolen in Atlanta I was wondering am I going to be able to use the profiles I had set up for the G4 on the G5 or am I going to have to start all over again.

You can use the same profile as a starting point. What you want to do is to convert the profile over to a new model number and pick the G5 version that matches your split. Usually a G5B67xxx- and then after the dash look for the V for VHF, "C" for 400-470 and "D" for 450-520 model.

I don't have the software up in front of me, but you should be able to find the tab that allows you to convert to a new model.

It should. By the way, you want to click on Tab C, then C2.
If you have your old serial number, I can forward it to unication so they can put it into their stolen database. This way if someone turns it in or tries to get it fixed for repair it will be flagged. Feel free to PM me the information if you have it.

No I don't have the serial number of the G4 this occurred some time ago. I was able to get the profiles switched over, the PPS version I have is V0.3.14.15 is that the latest version?

0.3.4.15 is the latest version. It was released mainly to add support for the G2/3, but will work with the G4/5 too.
