All I was wondering if there was scanner programming software for Linux.

My scanner is a BCD396XT and I have the uniden USB-1 programming cable I use freescan on windows to program but I also use Linux from time to time and would like a programming setup for Linux as well.

Thanks to all who reply

:)

Software for Linux

I can't guarantee it will work for you in your version, but I have had some success using WINE. WINE lets you run many Windows program in Linux, even heavy duty programs like MS Office. There is a list of tested programs, but each case and version is a new challenge. WINE should install easily through your package manager, and on the computer/version I use (Lubuntu), I had to do a restart before WINE was functional. Good luck.

wine

wine and cxoffice alike in my experience anytime you incorporate a program that involves a device + drivers things just do not go well.

Thanks for the response though. The mentioned program seems like it may work from my reading when I get the time I hope to try it.

thanks again
