When I use proscan 19.1.1 and save my audio files and play them back the audio is not clear as it is on the scanner, I can hear distortion in the backgroung I am using a line into my pink mic plug. If I use a different scanner program to do the audio files there are know problems the audio is clear in the recordings as it is on the scanner radio. What would be causing this. I have attached some clips of the audio setup I am using also. can someone give me a hint on the proscan audio setup I am using, how I can tweak it so the audio is clearer.
Steve

First,I would suggest line-in jack instead of mic jack. Are you using any ground loop isolator on audio cable?
When I use this setup with ARC536 PRO and do my audio recordings I have no problems, Yes I have a loop isolator in line but I have no problem with the other software recording. I have a mic and I have a headphone jack, I use the mic jack.

I don't see how distortion could be caused by ProScan as the audio is in a PCM digital format all the way from the sound card input analog to digital converter to the sound card output digital to analog converter. I suggested double and triple check your setup.

Can you provide an audio clip so I or we can try to determine what type of distortion or background noise.

Again, can you provide an audio recording so I can see what type of distortion. Thanks.

Just took proscan off my computer and reinstalled it
I'll see if this fixes the problem
I did the reinstall of Proscan and that seems to have fixed the audio problem I as having, could be something to do with the Windows Updates in the last couple of days that were installed don't really know.

Thanks for the update. I'm not sure why reinstalling ProScan would fix that. All that does is replace the executable with the same executable. If it happens again, I would check the Win Mixer settings and the Windows Privacy Microphone settings before anything else to try to determine the root cause.

I will trouble shoot it the way you said the next time if there is a next time and make sure to send some audio files for you to listen to.
