I am building a mobile chase vehicle and have 2 BCT-15X, 2 BCD-996P2, and 2 SDS200 scanners mounted in the rear of my vehicle. I am planning to run them remotely with PROSCAN software. I would like to know if there are any special computer requirements and how much RAM would be sufficient for running these 6 units.

I'm not settled on the processer yet either. I was leaning toward an I5 but have seen some great deals on industrial computers with Celeron processors. Normally I wouldn't even consider a Celeron, but I'm not familiar with what aspects of the processor the software uses. Would a Celeron processor be adequate to run 6 units?

ProScan runs fine on any modern computer running Windows(Win XP to Win 10). It is not processor and/or core specific.
Memory shouldn't really be an issue these days but it depends on # of instances, features running. Logging grid rows in the millions will use considerable memory. I would just try it and don't worry about it too much.

My biggest reason for using PROSCAN is the ability to find and replay. I have a hard time hearing so being able to see which scanner has received and then replay it is the main reason. All of the other features are just extras if I am able to easily replay. Now that I'm feeling confident in the most basic of configurations, I need to move on to what I will need for tieing the serial ports in for the GPS and also sound cards. Does anyone have input on the computer system requirements for GPS or sound?
