Hi:

I have an SDS200 scanner and I am trying to setup Proscan. My PC has an Intel Core i7 processor with Windows 11.
The Comm Port Settings screen isn't working for me. Obviously I am doing something wrong.

Could some one please lend me a hand.

Thanks very much.

What do you mean by "The Comm Port Settings screen isn't working for me." ? Are you saying that the window doesn't open when you click on Comm Port on the ProScan menu bar?

  1. Plug in the USB cable to the front USB-Micro port on the radio (below the Ethernet port)
  2. When the radio asks to go into either Serial Mode or Mass Storage, select Serial by pressing the "." (period) button or just let it time out and it will default to it after 10 or 15 seconds.
  3. After it goes into Serial Mode wait a few seconds and open the Comm Port settings in ProScan.
  4. Select the Comm Port from the "Port" drop down. If this is the only serial device it would likely be the only one listed, most likely Comm 3 if on a fresh Windows install.
  5. Press the Set button on the ProScan Comm Port popup window. If the display appears in ProScan you are all set.
  6. If still no virtual display then alter the Baud Rate on the Comm Port popup. It should default to 9600 but try other speeds until it works. The actual value will not affect the operation noticeably but it has to match the speed set in Windows.

It is working so far. I am attempting to setup the audio but I cannot find a TAB called
Audio Control per the ProScan manual. The squelch control works but not the volume
control.

In the row of tabs below the virtual scanner....
