OK, I am sure not many here are much interested in the PSR-100, but here is a quick review anyway. I am using my older Pro-75 as a comparison, a very nice radio in it's own right.

I got the last one Glenn had on sale at Scanners Unlimited http://www.scannersunlimited.com/ for $79.95 (regular $119.95). As expected, Glenn shipped it very fast and was safely packaged.

Got it today and checked it out.

Seems like a decent conventional 29-512 MHz radio basically the same as my GRE made Pro-75 in a slightly smaller package with a couple of added features and faster scan rate. (I think it is very close to the Pro-82 but I have never seen one).

It has the SAME weather alert and the Spectrum Sweeper function (one of the main reasons I bought it). The back light is way better than my Pro-75. The sound it strong and clear. Sensitivity is on par with my Pro-75 as well.

Another plus for the PSR-100 is it only needs 4 AA batteries as opposed to my Pro-75 which requires 6.

The PSR-100 came with a second yellow battery holder for rechargeable batteries and an AC charger.

It is supposed to be PC Programmable but did not come with a cable and the manual does not mention any available software to program it (not that it is really needed for such a simple radio anyway).

All in all it is a nice little radio well worth the price.

Looking at that product page this jumped out at me:

"108.0000 - 136.9875 MHz 12.5 kHz FM"

Somebody better tell GRE the civilian aviation band is AM mode, not FM. ;)

Looks like a solid scanner, albeit no 800 MHz coverage but I guess that's the point.

The "108.0000 - 136.9875 MHz 12.5 kHz FM" is a typo. It is actually AM.

Nice review fredg, not bad for a $80 radio.

After playing with it some more I have found it to be somewhat more sensitive than my Pro-75. I have been using it in my basement office at work where my Pro-75 was basically deaf and unusable. It is picking up strong local signals very good in this environment.
