I currently have a Pro-94 Scanner and I am looking to upgrade to digital when I go to Fort Knox. My original pick was going to be the Pro-96 until I realized that it doesn't pick up the 700MHZ band (I do know this can be enabled via Win96) nor does it pick up the new 380MHZ Federal Band. The Project 25 systems on both Fort Knox and Fort Campbell both use this band and so I was wondering if the PSR-500 would be a good fit for me seeing as how they pick both bands up out of the box. My gut instinct says it will but I was wondering if you can plug it in to a power source like I can my Pro-94 and recharge my batteries that way and still listen. And also does it differ much from the Pro-96 in terms of programming it, etc? Just figured I'd ask for some advice before I plop down 500 bucks for a scanner. So any advice on the matter would be appreciated. I'm not a big fan of Uniden scanners so this would be the preferable route for me if it is in fact equal in performance if not superior.
Thanks
