If anyone has successfully programmed this system in the new psr500,please help!!! My uniden 296d does fine with me locking out the north control channel. I cannot do this with the psr. I tried loading all frequencies from both sites and also programming them as sepearte systems-no luck. Any ideas???
Im not from New York, but the system looks fairly straightforward. For testing I would do this;
Create a new TGRP that is a Group Wildcard . When selecting the TSYS for that TGRP, select 'New'. This will allow you to set up a TSYS object. TSYS object should be Mot 800/900. Assign that TGRP to a scanlist all by itself and give it a try.
Do that for both the North and the South zones separately for now, since you are having difficulties. I'm assuming you can hear sites both in the North and South Zone and thus would like to have both programmed in but lock one zone out at times.
If you don't have software, download PSREdit or Win500. Both are great and have 30 day evaluations (maybe even longer). IT's very easy to program a site like this in.
if you know that the North and South zone only have _one_ control channel and there absolutely is no ohter one that it may switch to, just program that zone's CC frequency in as the only frequency in the TSYS object for that zone. Although it should be fine putting all the North Zone freqs in one TSYS and all the South Zone freqs in another TSYS. either way it really shoudl work fine.
Did you program talk groups into it? Make sure you at least have a group wildcard TGRP object for now, that it is associated with the TSYS that you created for hte zone you want to listen to, and that it is assigned to a scanlist that you are actively scanning.
