PSR500/PSR600: PSR500 Scan/Audio problem

My PSR500 is programmed with WIN500. The display shows normal scanning mode. Scanner will not stop on an active talkgroup or conventional frequency. Press the WX key and it does not stop on a WX frequency.
Anyone ever experienced the same problem. I have four other GRE's programmed with WIN500 so it is not the programming software.

Ant. Connection to the rf board. Have had to re solder mine a few times over the years.

I have not had that happen and I own three different mfg versions of it. The antenna item noted could be the issue.

There is also the option to reset the scanner.

What does it do in MAN mode?

First a question, if you press the weather button with the squelch turned all the way down (so you hear static), are you able to receive any weather channels by continuously pressing the weather button.

If not, then possibly the antenna connection needs resoldered as noted above.

If you are able to receive weather stations only when the squelch is turned down, then I would try resetting the advanced settings. Some of the advanced settings can cause the scanner to skip over frequencies even when a strong signal is present.

To reset just the advanced settings without affecting what is stored in the memory, turn off the scanner and then press 0 when the welcome screen is being displayed. After this, press 2.
