PSR800 multi-site question

When setting up this radio, for example a statewide system, I have dozens of sites that I'd like to include, for traveling. My question though is does the 800 search for the first strong CC it finds, and then stay there, or does it keep cycling through all available site frequencies?

As far as I can tell, there is no way to see what site you are currently on unless there is an incoming transmission, and the display is set up to show the active site.

It searches for the strongest C/C much like the "Roam" setting in the PRO-106.

The PSR800 monitors the error rate and as long as the rate is above the minimum, it stays on that C/C. Once the error rate becomes too high, it will look for another C/C with an acceptable error rate.

You can set the Data Decode Threshold under the Trunked Radio Sites tab. Look under the Trunked System Site Information and select a site. At the bottom of that section is the Multi-Site Settings where you can set the decode thresholds. Check the Help menu for more info.

I monitor the Fleetnet Multisite System in Ontario, and found the best way was to set each tower you want to monitor on its own scanlist. I currently have the nine towers I can receive from home scanning all the time. When I travel I just activate the appropriate scan lists that I will be able to hear in the area I am going to.

How do you set up the TGs? Do you copy the same TGs to each scan list, or can you just enter them once? Trying to set something similar with some multi site systems here in LA that in some cases have same TGs, but in other cases have different traffic. Thank you..

I monitor the PCWIN system in Tucson and I have each tower on it's own scan list, but I then use scan sets to switch to the different areas around town.

I would like to be able to put all of the sites on one scan list, so that I could use the multisite settings, but some of the sites don't allow some talkgroups. Every time I have tried to do this edit the talkgroups for one site all the sites get changed.

Any ideas?

Yes I copy the same TGs to all the towers. That way I know I will not miss anything. You could also just program in the TGs you know are used and add a wildcard.Then when you see a TG you want to keep, you just save it.
