• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Well the screen shot is what I've seen but they won't communicate with each other.
Where do you live Kn1ight?
Are you interested in receiving my 2 radios to try and unlock them?
They aren't doing me any good right now.

If you're able to, use the Email function on my profile to contact me, outside of this forum, as I'm using mobile data to post here, and email is more "friendly" towards data usage, or Skype chat (knightriderfan101) for quicker responses

I didn't see an email option.
I tried to send you a private message but that is unavailable.
Haven't done Skype in years.

Wasn't enabled in my User CP

I do my best to check back here, but sometimes it slips my mind for a while. I check email once everyday, if not more then once

PX888K 2-radios

I have tried two different USB programing cables and several different prolific drivers and different versions of the PX888K software (currently running 1.04) and I still can not program my radios. The cables work fine on my PX-777, Baofeng UV-5R+ and BF-F8HP

I hook them up, set the com port, turn on the radio, press read and it appears to read- clone the radio 100% but nothing shows up in the box's on the software.

If I try to write to the radio I get "Warning - Model Error" twice then "Check Connection- Retry or Cancel?" The radio has -PC- then ERR on the screen.

Chirp just got rudimentary support for the 888k. Give that a shot.

Hello,

I have the same problem with my PX888K. Totally blocked. No reaction on turning on + pressing the MENU.
Can you send me a valid link to download the older software v. 1.01?
Thx.

How did you turned off this function? With the programming software I can only change the CALL frequency (in the VFO/Call menu), but when I press the '#' button it keeps jumping to the CALL frequency, which is very annoying, because it happens even when the keypad is locked.

Anyone having a solution? Thanks!

Yes, i turned of this function in the settings on the computer.

And after this i had no more problem.
