I have been monitoring RCS 800MHz system. It is down as a type I Motorola, but I think it is definitely Type II hybrid system. Is there anybody with Trunker that can monitor this system and find the correct settings. I was hearing everything ok this morning. Then I turned on Status bits, and was getting even and odd ID's.

But I did not have time to research it. The fleet map in RR is Preset 8 for BCD396.
The other problem I found is RCS rents radios, so I'm not sure if these are the Id's used all the time at Churchhill Downs.
305-1 Tickets/Gates
700-4 Sierra posts, not sure if Downs, or what exactly, but seems to fit
59936 Security
57920 Escorts/Clubhouse
700-6 Parking
002-1 Limousine/taxi traffic from airport to downs
204-1 Derby Fest operations

I tried to enter the 2007 Derby talkgroup #'s they seem to be in a different format from the rest that are in the RR database, I tried to enter them as DEC and HEX with no luck, the others are in a 000-00 format? (Pro-96) If I am doing something wrong please point me in the right direction. I have the Louisville 2 Way 800Mhz System already programmed, and works fine with the other talkgroups. The fleetmap I am using is: S1, S1, S2, S2, S3, S3, S4, S4.

I don't know, it was picking up that way yesterday. I think because I had them programmed before I switched the fleet map. Today I am getting just the Type I id's. And the fleet map does appear to be correct. It is Preset 8 for Uniden scanners and E1P8 for Radio Shack.

I have an updated list which I will upload later. This morning was busy, and tomorrow will be even busier. I just wish I could monitor from home.

About 10:15pm last night I picked up one of those different types of ID's. I feel your pain, I can only monitor from work.

Hi guys, get ready. Read the thread on the Virginia Forum with details of her visit here today. I'm going to try to catch her flight out of here over to you this afternoon. My guess is this would not be a good year to go to the Derby with all the beefed up security! Keep posting!

Have some stuff from oaks to add... as soon as i can digest it all and make sense of it.... The RCS system was acting like both a MOT 1 and an hybrid system this morning with all sorts of ID's popping up.... will try to get some of it posted tonight so anyone listening tomorrow can have something to use as square 1 or 2....
Also, heard a pair of digital talk groups that were being used by EMS.... they changed to EMS 10 after the MVC on Crittenden was dispatched.

Just curious: would it help to have Derby/Churchill as a category in the database so everyone can find the stuff with less searching?

I just monitored RCS today, probably should have checked out Metro system. It seesm to be a Type II Hybrid, Fleet map 8

I think a separate category is needed, it's a big event, though only in use once a year more or less. And I think the information changes from year to year.

Wave 3 is probably an image, they are on VHF 160 media frequncies with that PL.
I noticed yesterday on Oaks, the horse rider that greets th winning jockey and horse has a portable radio and they were using it at that time.

I think I'll have a chance to monitor on Monday and maybe run some more of these down.

Metro digital system used to rebroadcast UHF frequencies, I don't know if they still are. But it would be a good use for the system at Derby. Not many people monitor it and they could have police and fire and ems with inter operations.

Brantley is the security company.
Don't know what Sierra is yet, and Metro police are on scene as well as State Police.

A little while ago MetroSafe put Mutual Aid (154.295 pl 151.4) on detail for Derby. Haven't been listening, but thought you guys might enjoy!

Just a guess here, but judging from some of the topics discussed on those talk groups (700-4 and 700-5), Sierra might mean Sanitation....

I have had WNYP413 (The Churchill "trunked" system) in my scanner for the past four years and have only heard it as conventional; Oaks morning is the first time I have heard anyone ID any transmission on any of the freqs--it was a test on Repeater 2 (858.78750)... Will have to add the Derby Museum as well...

I am going to add a Derby Listing to the Jefferson County data base as a category....

Congrads Doug: There is a Santa Claus! What you might want to do is go to a few Radio Shacks and ask for something obscure (my trick was to see which store had a staff member who would actually take the initiative to look in the computer for a rechargeable battery holder for the PRO 92 after I told them I didn't want a cell fone--I have followed that manager all over town with about $15,000 business to date.)
Welcome to the digital age! Be sure to get WIN96 so you can trade info with us, too... There are a number of folks in here who can help you with it so keep us posted!

Not really, you were reading this thread and will, happily, soon have a tool to help us decipher the Derby Festival listings!

Is this guy anywhere near Lexington/Richmond area? I will be down in Richmond for 3 days starting this evening until Wednesday evening for courses for work at Eastern Kentucky. If he is somewhere near there that I can visit, I may just do that. I am looking online with Ebay for a Pro-96 since it will do the apco 25 that metro is going to. I am one of these impatient types as well. She approved it and now I am chomping at the bit....

I will be checking in on here during the evening times since I will be bored out of my mind in the hotel. Wife and kids are staying home so nothing to do but play on the computer and talk to them on the phone...LOL

Have a good one.

Doug
