Evening guys. I got my unication USB fixed so I added some channels the other days.

For the Cherry Hill area, which one would be best to monitor? The countywide or east region? Also what is the point of the Cherry Hill EMS channel?

I heard a call today on East EMS for a medical emergency and a minute or two later on the CH channel. On the CH channel it seems as if the dispatcher only called out the call and no one replied.

Btw on my Unciation, the EMS channels sound fuzzy/muffled unlike the state police simulcast. Would an SDS100 sound better? Reason I ask is because when the staties go encrypted I was thinking to sell the G5 and get an SDS to a wider range of listening. I picked the G5 since it does very well on the simulcast

So if you are trying to monitor Cherry Hill Fire and EMS, all responses should go over East Ops, or East Tac channels. The Cherry Hill Fire channel is exclusively to dispatch Fire and EMS. There are no responses on that channel. The other EMS channels are for Virtua Medcom and maybe for EMS tactical operations, but very rarely used.
As far as audio quality goes, the SDS100 has a little sharper audio, whereas the Unication is louder but a bit more muffled. I personally like the sound of the SDS100 a bit better. But the Unication is the more consistent receiver. Even on Camden County, which is about the easiest P25 system in our area to pick up cleanly, the SDS100 will have occasional errors and missed transmissions even within the County.
