I have a question regarding programming a BCT8. I have succesfully programmed several of these units using BCT8 software version 1.01 using my desktop computer. My question has more to do with the computer I now want to use to program more scanners for some friends of mine. It is a Dell Inspiron laptop that DOES NOT have a serial port on it, so I purchased a USB to DB9M adapter on ebay. I was just wondering if this will work. Am i going to be able to assign a com-port to the DB9M adapter if it goes through the USB port ?
