Question about Safe-t

I have just came across the following radios. 2 Motorola Stx 821's, 2 Motorola MTS 2000's handhelds on 800Mhz along with 2 Motorola Spectre mobiles.All this radio gear is in excellent working condition and I am going to keep all of it.All of this is set up on the old MECA analog System 1 and was woundering if any of this gear could be used as a "Receiver only" to be re- programed for Safe-t in the Indianapolis area.I would like to hear from others in the field if this could be done.Thank You, Respectfully Submitted,Tim A DeLong Ham Radio Operator W9NES Indianapolis/Marion County NW Side

Among other things, programming a radio on a system you don't belong on isn't a good idea and is a good way to turn your newly acquired gear into bricks. Anyway, you would need the system key and you aren't going to get that.
