Ok, so i have the programming software for the icom v82's, however i cant get it to program a channel that ends in .0175.. it always rounds up to .0200...

even though the display shows a .0075 it just wont program into it.

any ideas?

most likely you need to set the channel for narrow band if you have that option.

It does that because .0075 or .0175 isn't a 12.5 kHz step, it's a 6.25 kHz step. The radio is capable of 12.5 kHz narrow band steps from the "base" numerics of the 20/25 kHz bandwidths, not 6.25 steps. Some of the 6.25 steps fall on the 12.5/20/25 khz steps, so they do accept those freqs, but the receive audio, if it is analog, would be very low and the transmit audio won't be narrow enough. If it's digital, well, that answers its own question.

Sounds like you need an Icom F3061S. It cost twice as much ($259) but will work much better. It also does two tone squential. I am using an Icom F30GS bought off of the web for $75.00 for squad ops.
