How do you mount your handheld scanner in your vehicle so you can listen as you drive?

I also clip mine to the visor just above my head, that way the audio doesn't irritate my wife so much. :D

I have bucket type seats so mine sits in the split area between the seats. The trick to keep it steady where it doesn't slide to either side is i put it in its carry case and it holds real well.

Had mine clipped to a spare guage space on my dash till I broke the belt clip. Experimenting with a cell phone dash clamp( best way to describe that widget).

My Pro-94 fits OK in the factory drink holder. Am thinking about adding some foam or such to limit the movement a little more.

This makes it easy to remove the radio when my wife drives the car (she is not a scanner head ...yet) :D

I got creative with mine and fabbed up my own mount out of aluminum. :D I'll get a pic of it later, but all i did was bolt it to the cupholder/console on the floor and bend the top of it at the angle i wanted. The scanner clips right to the top of it.

Go to Boaters World. They have a plastic bracket that holds hand held marine radios. They also work great with scanners.

I used to use one of the really cheap plastic portable can holders you can get at K-Mart or anywhere. That lets you put it in many places.

I assume this works with most radioshack scanners. I KNOW that it works on the PRO-95 and 93. Go to ebay and type in PRO-93.The results will show a cool little case that clips on somewhere in your car to hold the scanner. But of course, if you have a better place to put it, just use that. I use the cupholder too.

How do you mount your handheld scanner in your vehicle so you can listen as you drive?

Either in the cupholder, or attached to an A/C vent mount.

I use the pull out cup holder for my Pro-95, and the cup holder built in to the console for my MTX8000 on a Ford F250.

I use plastic wire ties threaded through the plastic air vents.

I place one vertically and tighten it down to a small oval.
Then, I take one (or two tied together) and place it horizontally through the first one. The scanner has to fit down into the horizontal holder, so don't make it too small. The secret is snug, but loose enough to remove the scanner. The belt clip and friction helps to hold the radio in place.

Adjust the height of the vertical tie to allow for the scanner's LCD screen to be seen, as you require.

Another trick is to use silicone.
Remove the belt clip if necessary and place a nice glob of G.E. 2 brand clear silicone on the dash(from a home improvement store for a few bucks.....the size that'll fit in the glove box and doesn't require any tools). That'll hold it in place nicely.
