Yes, a relative 'newbie' here - although I have been around scanners since the days of going to Radio Shack to buy crystals to get the frequencies you needed...
Question: Radio Shack has the PRO 2096 on clearance. My brother has asked me to check to see if it will do what he wants. He is a casual monitoring fan, not a heavy pro user, and basically just wants to monitor AWINS and local (Cleveland County and area) traffic.
I did a forum search before posting, and did find two posts referencing the PRO 2096, both by safetyobcs saying that the PRO 2096 would pick up AWINS.
So - Buy the 2096 (at approx $200 off retail) or not?
All opinions/advice appreciated.
