If it is encrypted, that just means nobody volunteered to add it to the list.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry9700/5.0.0.862 Profile/MIDP-2.1 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/332)

All of LPS's regular comms are encrypted. You sometimes hear them on their analog group in the clear, or when patched to UWO Police and the like.

But day to day stuff gets the theta.

ProVoice and AEGIS are a digital formats that cannot be monitored by a scanner so whatever scanner you have wouldn't be able to track London Police on the system.

Unencrypted Digital (Aegis and ProVoice):

· More secure than analog (clear) voice communications and provides protection against monitoring of communications (IE: scanners).

· Limited to no communications protection if a radio is stolen, depending on the System.

Hope this helps

Ok Thanks I just wanted to be sure. In a city with a little over 300.000 people in it, I still dont think LPS need their regular communications to be encrypted 24/7. As I have a feeling that the majority of criminals before 1997 didnt use scanners and still dont to this day.

Doesn't matter what modulation scheme London uses as they're encrypted.

Thats why I wanted to verify encryption, because it says 'they are supposedly encrypted' they only need one talkgroup for encryption, The rest should be in the clear!
