I have had my BR330T for a long time, but its also been a long time since I have used it.

A few questions.

With FreeScan, I try to import the following Radio System:
Palm Beach County Public Safety Radio System
Palm Beach County Public Safety Radio System Trunking System, Palm Beach, Florida - Scanner Frequencies

RR says this has gone through re-banding. I have the latest firmware in my BR330T, 1.06.02 which supports re-banding.

I have a premium RR membership, so from FreeScan I suck down the above, and get a bunch of errors that say "ERROR: Scanner Max Channel or Max TGID limit reached".

Can I maybe chop this system in multiple parts by only importing say 10 groups into each part, and that should work? Just want to make sure this is the proper way to deal with it. The complete system is 25 groups, and my scanner can only take 20 anyways, even when importing only 14 groups I still get a few of these errors.

I noticed for some talk groups it doesn't show the alpha display. Example, say

ID: 48336

instead of showing "RBPD Disp" it shows "ID: 48336". Only a few of the talk groups show this way. Yet in Free Scan there is clearly a display text there of "RBPD Disp", so I am not sure why it chooses to use the ID instead, perhaps its out of memory or something? I have set the option in Free Scan to show display text if it exists.

Thanks,

Brian

Well, to start, it appears you are in ID Search mode, instead of ID Scan (the option is on the Trunked System Setup form)

However the max problem is a bit harder to pin down. One of the more common mistakes is to keep ADDing systems when in fact you want to REPLACE them. Another is not clearing out the old memory which has a few pre-loaded systems which are out of date anyway. These 2 things can eat up memory fairly quickly.

You are also limited to 200 talkgroups/system. So if you really are hitting that limit, you will need to copy the original system, then add the talkgroups to the copy.

I would wipe the scanner (use the Erase all Systems and Settings red button on the upload form) then do a one time ADD - then if you want to modify that trunk system, always use REPLACE, never ADD.

Thanks for the reply, I was in fact in ID Search and have not gone to ID Scan so I can control what I hear, thanks a lot.

I will make copies of the system as you say so as not to exceed the talk group limit.
