R30 Questions..........

Hi all,
Been looking at the ICOM IC-R30 for a while. I listen to a trunked P25 system. From my location, with just a rubber duck antenna, I will be able to monitor just two sites. It's a utility, so it's not very busy most of the time. Here's my questions:
1) Do P25 trunked systems ever use CC's or Alt CC's for voice traffic.
2) The voice channels I'd be monitoring are 152.54750, 152.7125 and 1526225. Maybe a few more for when I'm away from home. Do I need 2.5 KHz resolution to monitor these frequencies? I don't know why, but the R30 doesn't do 2.5KHz resolution.
3) Anyone know if ICOM is planning to add this feature in a firmware update? Shouldn't be that hard to do.
4) How is P25 decode on the R30? Good audio quality compared to what's available?

1. I think the CC frequencies are fixed, but not 100% sure here.
2. Could you not just use the ic-r30's 0.1 kHz TS?
3. Don't know.
4. P25 decoding sounds great to me on my ic-r30.

Never! You can never have too many radios, sold 2 or 3 in the past and came to bitterly regret it.

Bob, I have no trouble monitoring a P25 Phase 1 (VHF) system along with analog. Not a very large system but very busy. The P25 decoding is the BEST I've ever heard. This goes for NXDN too. The R30 scans so fast that I pick up more traffic with it vs SDS100 or 436HP.

This receiver is in a class of its own.
