Well, nothing special and sort of quickly thrown together; I just needed something where I could listen to my departments' and surrounding agencies tac/fireground channels to figure out what's going on while responding either to the station or the scene....
I have set up in my car, a Uniden BCT15 stored in the trunk;

I have it running up to a speaker and antenna located behind the front seats;

I have the scanner itself running up to a remote head, the BC-RH96, which i mounted to the left of my steering wheel.... Perfect position, it clears the legs when getting in and out, and in the event of an accident won't hit my knee / leg at all....

Almost all of the wires are hidden except for a few; my main problem was powering up the scanner in the trunk... I couldn't find a wire that shuts off with the car, and the head up front doesn't control power to the main unit... I went with a power adapter extender w/ a toggle on / off switch and ran it up to a socket under my arm rest:

a bit ghetto; but beats a dead battery...

As for my other toys I use, I have a minitor that's not pictured, and an ICOM IC-F70 UHF:

That's pretty much it for now, eventually I might find a better form of power and I'm going to create a little cover so if i'm carrying something in the trunk, it won't smash up against the scanner...

There are tons of accessories that turn off with the ignition...

Just to name a few that you could bleed power off of if you found the right wire...

Stereo
Blower motor
Fuel pump
Sometimes accessory outlets are switched

Looks good.

How's the reception with the antenna tucked in behind the seat?

:)

haha, a little unorthodox place for the antenna, but it works great reception wise, at least for my needs... can pick up all local, and a decent amount of new york city. the antenna just doesn't look good to me mounted on my car. its my dark blue that doesn't mix well.... as for the trunk size, its a decent space... haven't had the opportunity yet to throw some bodies in, but when i do i'll let you know how many i can fit. as for antenna type, i need to do some more digging; i bought it a year ago and don't quite remember what it is...

Im guessing thats an audi. If so there should be 4 terminal posts under the driver kick panel, the one labeled x75 i believe is ignition on. If your ever in CT I could clean that install up a bit.

Say, friend, can ya spare some change? LOL!

If it does everything you need it to do, then go for it. Pretty nifty how ya figured out a place for the antenna.

Nice clean install the best part is it works for what you need and your happy with it.As for power in the trunk if your car has a power antenna in the rear you can pull power from that or if it has a radio amp under the rear seat you can get it from that
