Ok, I have my different areas conventional frequencies in groups of frequencies, and have
quick keys assigned. As I travel, I can hit the quick keys to start scanning those groups or stop
scanning them.

Now, I have a few mot type II trunking systems. Can I not assign quick keys to them? I notice in
freescan when I click on the systems that there are TGID quick keys enable/disable options. Where
do I access these while scanning? How should I check these?

While scanning, how do I bring those systems into the scan list and take them back out? I don't
want to waste time scanning Nashville when I am in Tulsa....

ooops...Its a BC996

Re: Quick Keys

Yes you can. When programing the trunk system sites; there is a quick key setting. You can, if you choose to, match the trunk system to a conventional system. i.e. set XYZ County Convential to QK 6 and XYZ City MOT2
Sites to QK 6. Both systems could be turned on or off using QK6.
Hope this answers your question.

ps look at thread "old topic new question Group" in this forum. Belive it may also provide answers to your question.

In FreeScan, to enable a quick key, simply click on the box and make sure it has a check mark in it. Upload the system and those quick keys that have check marks will be enabled, and you will scan them.

I think tthe confusion might be that for EDACS and Motorola systems (which can have multiple sites), the SQK is assigned at the "Site" instead of the "System." Each site in such systems could have different SQKs.

Both of you - that makes sense. To be honest, the whole quick key thing has been the most confusing thing about this scanner, even after 20 some odd years in commercial two way.

I tihnk I got it now though. Thanks
