Hey all, got a BCD325P2 to replace a Whistler TRX-1 that has been giving me SD card errors recently. I still have and use the TRX when I can get it to work.

One strange issue with the BCD, on one particular digital VHF high frequency, the transmission is always broken. It’s very strong and clear, but it’s like the dispatcher and whoever they’re talking to is quickly letting off the mic, then pressing it again. It happens throughout the transmission. No other frequencies have this issue, and it didn’t happen with the TRX.It’s a very strong signal, the transmitters isn’t far from my house. I linked a video of what I’m talking about at the bottom of this post. The first half of the transmission seems broken up.

The second issue I noticed is that I’m missing the beginning of many transmissions. Like the scanner isn’t picking them up quickly enough and the first word or two is cut off. I use ProScan to program and have the “digital waiting” set at 200ms. Again, this is not an issue I had with the TRX. I don’t know if the TRX just scanned faster or what but I never missed the beginning of any transmission before. Keep in mind I’m not scanning very much, less then 1% of the scanner memory is programmed, and I only scan less then half of that at a time.

With all that being said, I do like this scanner and the sound quality is far better then the TRX was.

Thanks in advance!

Try a longer delay for the TG, maybe 5 sec seems to be suitable with that conversation example. Also try the IFX on the voice frequencies, Function+4. If you only have the control channel programmed you'll have to program the voice channels and select each one manually and add IFX to them.

There isn’t a control channel that I’m aware of, it’s a simple digital system, all dispatch and related traffic is on one frequency.

Try changing from NFM to FM and see if that helps.

I’ll try it. I’m not at the scanner now, is this something that can be done in ProScan while programming? Can it be done right on the scanner itself? Thanks.
