R30 R30 antenna question

Anyone know if this antenna is strictly receive only or can transmit on it? Put this antenna on my vx 7r and wow, really picks up better than the stock antenna. Its my shtf radio in case of emergency. Used it for scanning before I picked up better scanners so never transmit on it. Thanks

It's a collapsible whip, so you can adjust it to a 1/4 wave from VHF to a 5/8 at 800MHz. Not sure if the impedance is exactly 50 ohms or what the transmit power handling is, it is, after all designed as a receive antenna.

But yeah, years ago Larsen sold a BNC whip for 2m HTs that was a collapsible whip and outperformed any helical rubber duck.
