R75 R75 aftermarket linear power supply ?

Ordered an R75 from Hamestate LLC, dsp installed. 04xxx serial. Every review says to change the stock power supply to a more quiet linear one . It may well be coming with one. If not, what would I be looking for ? Thanks.

I think most modern solid state switchers are pretty quiet (and in my neighborhood it just doesn't matter), butI'd go for the smallest Astron linear with a set of meters on it. I use the 12M for receiving.

I've owned an R75 since new, well over 15 years. I had never heard of any issues with the stock power supply.

In any case, I second the recommendation above for an Astron supply. They are reliable and solidly built. Mine is about 20 years old and still going.

As others have said, get the Astron, and use it also to power other devices at the same time.

Thanks everyone, I looked up new and used Astron power supplies on HRO and there are several used on the Hamestate site.

Astron is a good power supply. Powered my R8500, R75 then my IC 705 I had. Zero issues.
