Hope this is posted in the right place!

Has anyone had any success feeding DSD+ with this R8500 baseband audio, I can't for the life of me get a good decode, it's very choppy.

Using a RTL usb dongle with SDR Sharp gets a good decode every time.

I did read another post where someone was having the same issue, so what's wrong with the output on the Icom?

If anyone has any insight into this it would be great to know.

Thank you

IIRC the jack can be used for discriminator audio or something else, depending on the position of a small switch inside the radio. Do you have the switch in the correct position?

While I have not yet tried DSD+ I have often used the discriminator audio for Trunker, Unitrunker and PL/DPL decoding ant it has always worked very well.

I will break out the notes later tonight and see what I can find.

Hey, thanks for the reply. I do have the output set to discriminator and have moved the jumper. I've had some success with decoding pagers etc and DSD does work, but it's very flakey with a lot of dropouts compared with a RTL USB stick which works perfectly.

It's a new receiver and everything else works well, there are a few other posts where others seem to have similar issues with the 8500 discriminator and DSD so I guess it's just going to be one of those things that's difficult to resolve.
