• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Just a long shot, does anyone have info about these modules? I have several,
would like to be able to program them. Also any installation instructions.
Searching the interwebs turned up next to nothing except old addresses
and dead links...

It figures.
I've been dragging several RACOM ID'er manuals around for about 30 years, but threw them away maybe last year.
They made a few different kinds.
One used little round switches that selected the ID letters and numbers. The "banks" of switches probably dialed the
binary or maybe BCD value to get A thru Z and 0 thru 9, too long ago to remember exactly.
But that was the best one because you could change the ID with a small screwdriver.
The later ones used a PAL (think one time burn PROM) 82S129 I think.
The last ones used a 2732 or 2716 I think. Or the 27C32 UV erasable EPROM.
Been years since I had any that I used.
The PAL and 2732 (16) versions programmed VERY much like the Hamtronics COR-4.
You might be able to reverse engineer the programming from that.
I hate it when this happens.
Seems like every time I throw away old manuals, someone needs the info from them.

Thanks for the reply. I figured out 4 of the 6 wires, +12, ground, audio out, and PTT out.
The other 2 run to the PAL, I was hoping to find a "COR" equivalent to kick off the ID.
Might have to add a wire and use the TEST switch to do that. One module was labeled
with the correct CWID I need (Legacy equipment, interfacing with a Daniels TX)

Update, the unit has a microprocessor (MC705K1P), a 1K serial EEprom, (93C46AEN) and a
14 pin header. I believe that this was field programmable (with some sort of programming cable)
6 wires out of the module, Com, +V audio out, PTT out, and what looks to be 2 inputs. (Series diode
and pullup resistors to +5)
