Heard some interesting traffic. Sounded like a radiofax signal sending photos for at least 15 minutes around 1700 local today.

I used to get weather stuff over HF radiofax signals maaaaany moons ago!

Any ideas?

I am interested I hope you recorded the raw data. I would like to try to decode it see if it is possible. Did it sound like WEFAX? I remember there being T-Storms in Oklahoma at that hour.RMA is you know is Regional Mutual Aid. Makes me curious if that's what they're doing now a days. I am also curious if NWS Norman is linked in with them.

The next weather event I hope they do it again. Ill fire up Trunk88 and FLDIGI just to see if I get a decode. Seems to be the right time of year.

I could tell it was something with varying degrees of “gray” instead of the staccato “black and white” of a text-type transmission. Each one lasted about 5 minutes at 120 lines per second, where WEFAX usually took at least 10-12 minutes each. Maybe photos of some “most wanted” operation?

Sounds like forensics. Wouldn't be able to decode that if it was. I doubt that gets transmitted. I think that usually gets sent on MDT's, classified email communications, and other means in their "cloud" so to speak.

Hopefully someone in the 'know' can help determine what type of transmission it actually is.
