Radio Shack Pro 652 Programming Problem

Have installed ARC 500 Software, no problems.

Intstalled FTD2 USB scanner cable, no problems.

Attempted to download existing file from scanner (it was a demo model and had all the local frequencies already installed).

Open screen - click download from scanner - box opens and select proper comport, then click on download - it appears to start working, but nothing happens after waiting a few minutes.

The comport driver is set to 9600 baud - data bits 8 - parity none - stop bits 1. Thanks for any advice!

Download win500 it is 30 day free trial and works just like the full version. arc trial is verry limmited ain what you can do.

If you are using the little stereo to mono adapter remove the adapter the new scanners program with the stereo end of the programming cable.

I had already purchased the software and activated it. So that shouldn't be an issue.

All the software trials are 30 day fully functional, but Windows 7 is the latest OS supported by WIN500. I've tried everything (disable all antivirus, malware apps.) and it won't run. Compatibility modes fail as well. WIN500 author unresponsive and I find no links where anyone has WIN500 operating on W8.1.

(Ended up installing VMWare Workstation 11.1 and created a Windows 7 virtual machine. WIN500 appears to run fine, but I got sick and have not yet connect a cable to test it fully. Everything I read says it should work, just haven't done it myself).

Update: Got WIN500 working. Needed the FTDI virtual com port driver. I see it is set to 9600 baud, 8, n, 1 and no flow control.

I own both WIN500 and PSREdit500, primarily use the latter but do feel the former has a slightly more intuitive interface.

I tryed arc500 for my pro652. Tryed to download what was in the scanner. It said it was downloading so did the scanner. but when it got done the file was no where to be found. Tryed 3 more times same thing. I have the corect cable and the latest drivers. Downloaded win500 and it works like a champ. I also have a pro 2051 and download arc433 as that is the only one for that scanner. Tryed to download from scanner at got a masiage this isn't avible in tryal version. try to lod stuff in 3 banks and got a warining that could only load 2 banks with the trial version.
