Welcome to the RR forums. Did you use software to program your scanner previously & if yes what app?

Please don't just put in frequencies, I have seen many, many dozens of people who do it that way and I was to correct that. As you mentioned about talkgroups programming is a different concept over the ole frequency usages from years ago.
In trunked systems frequencies are shared. One time a frequency is used by fire, next time its PD, next EMS, Public Works, etc. So let’s say you hear a call for another county or agency you don't want, you lock out that frequency, next time it’s used it will be a local call, then you missed that call since its locked out. Also you wont know what agency is talking.

It’s not like it was before when a frequency is dedicated for an agency anymore.
They use talkgroups, so when they change to another channel they are not changing frequencies, but changing a code number associated with the agency they are talking to called a talkgroup.

In this link, under the DEC are the talkgroup#'s for each agency. Under MODE if it’s D or T(Your 652 cant decode) it’s in the clear, De or Te(Your 652 cant decode) sometimes clear, sometimes encrypted, DE or TE is always encrypted.

You will likely have difficulty in reception due to the use of multiple towers in Wayne county, called simulcast.

If you are a premium paid subscriber here you can use software and program it, I use PSREidt500. Also its wise to make a vscanner folder of the programming so you can restore it.
