I recently e-mailed Radio Shack's Customer Service and told then of the proble with the MPSCS simulcast systems and the PRO-96. They just recently sent me this E-Mail.

Thank you for the e-mail,

On the basis of reports from users of the PRO-96/2096 in the Detroit
area, RadioShack believes that there may be some characteristics of the
new Detroit system that make it different from other similar systems
that the PRO-96/2096 is currently able to receive. Although we are
actively analyzing these reports and investigating this issue,
RadioShack is currently not certain if it will be possible to update
the
PRO-96 DSP firmware to enable reception of the new Detroit system.

I have toured the southern part of Michigan countys in Berrian Co area and up to Holland with great results with digital on my PRO96 and the MSP system. If RR.com has it correct the Detroit system is a MOTO Type1 system ??. I also used V-Folder 8 and have put more CConly freqys one after another with no separation and that worked very well. I hope to hear the Detroit system some time and am waiting for this IL-Starcom masterpiece to go on line in the next year.........

Detroit is now on the state system -NOT THE OLD DETROIT SYSTEM READ THE MICHIGAN FORUM ABOUT RECEIVING DETROIT.Southwest Michigan is not Detroit

No but Radio shack did't say people in Detroit area don't know how to program a scanner.

To get BACK on subject.....
What I got from their email to you was that they DID understand we are having a problem but they are not going to promise or even hint that they may be able to solve it.
I think what it boils down to is IF they can fix it with a simple upgrade they will otherwise don't hold your breath.
The biggest thing that will motivate them is if other systems around the nation start having the same problems we are having and it starts to cost them in lost sales. It will become a priority item for them then. The next best thing will be if Uniden solves it first that will also light a fire under RS.

I recieved the same thing. Im wondering if I should propose a live feed of the control channel audio to them or something. Tha t way it could be analyzed and compared. what do you think?

I doubt that will work - the control channel is data only no audio - audio is on the voice channels - the control channel only tells where to goto.
When I can get a 70% signal on pro96com it seems like I'm getting parity errors since the display reacts eracitly
