Railbird Festival 2023 | Lexington, KY

Saturday June 3rd and Sunday June 4th is the 2023 Railbird Festival hosted at the Redmile Gaming Hall. BearCom Operating has been issued an STA for the event this year under FCC callsign WRXJ534.

I’ll be posting the findings of this years festival in this thread following the event.

There were multiple talk groups I have recorded traffic from and bits and pieces but I could not confirm a channel name or assignment. 40 series talk groups seemed to be stage channels and lounges. 30 series appeared to be some facilities management and in-field operations. single and 10 series appeared to be primarily administration and artist operations.

The system was VERY busy and about every voice channel was in use continuously so it made it a little more difficult to follow.

The music was great as always!

Thanks. I couldn't tell if this was a stage channel or a sound channel, I kept hearing count downs for shows but never a reference to a certain stage. I heard plenty of references on other talk groups but never located them. I assume they are also in the 4x range

I definitely agree with your previous comments about it being a very busy system. Looks like I logged and recorded about 40,000 calls over those 3 days.
