Right now I'm running a server on rdio for my friends and myself. It's been working fine, except for the fact that I don't have a domain name and need to give them the numbers to type out which is annoying.

I got the port forwarding figured out (with a lot of hair pulling) but this free dynamic DNS service was less than helpful.

If anyone of you would be willing to help me step by step that would be great. DMs are welcome too

You need to run something on your computer or network where your rdio server is that let's the dynamic dns service know what your public IP is. This is usually either some software the dns service has for you to download or some routers have it built in. I use duckdns and on my unraid server is a docker container that runs an updater to let duckdns know if my ip changed. They also have an opensource windows gui you can download and install to do the same thing.

What dns service are you using?

I use no-ip for my DNS service and it has worked flawlessly. Check your router to see if there is an automatic update service in there for the no-ip service. Most of the consumer grade routers I have used do include the auto update feature for the DNS servers.
