Realistic Pro-52 Release Date?

Hello:

I have a nice old Realistic Pro-52 on the way to me and wanted to ask if anyone knows when this radio was first issued by RS? I've done quite a bit of searching but can't seem to find anything that shows when this radio was first put on the market.

Possible Resource

1978 Radio Shack catalog shows it as new for 1978. Available in stores October 30th,1977.
If you'll pm with your email, I've scanned the page and can send it.

I think its from 1988, give or take a couple years. When you get it look for the date code on the back.

That was my thought too (80's) at first, but didn't see it in the cats I had around that time. Happened to grab the '78 and there it was. It may have been around till the early '80s didn't look that hard.

I got the scan. Thanks very much! Wow, does that catalog ad bring me back (nice color images too). Can't wait to get the Pro-52 after seeing those old pics. Makes me want to start searching for old 1970's RS catalogs now ;-)
