Rebanding in Ohio is still another 2 years or so out. It will only affect public safety operating in the 850 MHz, they will be dropping 15 MHz. It will be an flash upgrade for new MTS2000's and MCS's, for the older ones and MTX800- 850's, they will be paper weights.

most of the rebanding information you need can also be found at http://www.800mhzrebanding.com As for 700 MHz, it is not completely vacant yet, so therefore no one has moved there. You will probablly see a lot of mobile data there, as well as additional trunked freqs there as systems grow and become capable of dual band operations.[/url]

And Ohio is in Wave 4 which has to start by 2nd quarter of 2006, about 1 year away. Some places that are not affected by the border plans can move earlier.

Rebanding and Radioshack PRO 93/95 series scanners

Will this rebanding affect those of us with RadioShack PRO 93/95 Scanners? Will our scanners be able to track the rebanded systems, such as the FCCA system?

Until more of this happens:

http://www.usatoday.com/tech/products/gear/entertainment/2005-04-20-digital-tv-sales_x.htm then the 700 Megacycle Band will remain locked up.

Although this could change it:

http://www.usatoday.com/tech/news/techpolicy/2005-04-20-digital-tv-deadline_x.htm

I believe that 700 is based on how fast the TV industry will vacate its frequencies.

I once read of a 700 Megacycle "Greenhouse Project" in Florida(?)
but haven't heard nothing about it yet.

You can always join medinscanner@yahoogroups.com .
There is alot of INFORMATION on Rebanding and 700 Megacycles too.
