I just got my whistler from Zip Scanners last Saturday, plugged it in and heard nothing. I left it on and started getting some chatter. I live in Houston, Tx and am programmed for Harris County and HPD. I took my radio out and down the street as suggested by Zip Scanners, hardly anything. The next day I took it across town and over a bridge a mile high to another city. Hardly anything. The day after that, I took it across and through Houston. Very little still. I called Zip Scanners and they told me to call the Whistler Group so I did and the told me to send my programming to them. It’s been two days since I heard from them. I have til tomorrow am to send my radio back to get my full refund. I need advice as to what to do. I thought that being in a large city like Houston, I would be hearing chatter 24/7. My radio is quiet for hours sometimes and other times II will get crystal clear reception for something in my neighborhood and then nothing after that. Is it me or my radio?
