Our weather radios got reset in a power surge a few days ago, and I haven't had time to (read: bothered) reset the SAME codes....Like 5 alerts since 0900 today, near constant yesterday.

Thanks for the update. I'll listen and help keep people posted just so long as I don't get flooded out here in Thurston county

I'm guessing Mt Rainier is going to have to rebuild several roads and campsites all over again

Best of Luck and Be safe to our members there....

Thank you very much. We're going to need it. The flooding is due to a combination of the record snowfall this year put together with the rain and rising tempuratures melting the snow.

Yeah, it looks like the NWS hit this one on the head. Never heard Fife having to evac before or I-5 closing in that area but the development has changed in the 30 years I've been here. The Cascades where that ski run sloughed off got 8-10 inches (rain) since yesterday. Lewis Co Sheriff is currently doing rescues off hwy 508 with a helo.

I-5 closes in Lewis County, could also close in Fife

Interstate 5 has closed from Grand Mound to Exit 68, south of Centralia, cutting off travel on the main north-south road between Olympia and Portland.

When I-5 closed because of flooding in Lewis County in December 2007, drivers were detoured through Yakima and onto Interstate 90. This time, I-90 is closed because of avalanche danger.

They are always closing I 5 at ground mound for some weather related thing.
PS: My sister lives at that exit

It's the only access point to turn around, go east to Tenino, go south on Old 99 if passable or turn around and go back north.
