Several rivers including the Carbon , Deschutes in Thurston Co. Chehalis at Grand Mound and Centralia and the Wynoochee in Grays Harbor are expected to reach record to near record severity.

Heard that around 1220 as I was heading out the door. Great. I live like 2 blocks from the river, and the area nearer is already flooding.

I am streaming a scanner (Pro-164) that covers most of the areas affected by the flooding,or potential flooding. http://www.scanseattle.net I have heard activity related to flooding on the Seattle/King county TRS.

Thank you very much. We're going to need it. The flooding is due to a combination of the record snowfall this year put together with the rain and rising tempuratures melting the snow.

Yeah, it looks like the NWS hit this one on the head. Never heard Fife having to evac before or I-5 closing in that area but the development has changed in the 30 years I've been here. The Cascades where that ski run sloughed off got 8-10 inches (rain) since yesterday. Lewis Co Sheriff is currently doing rescues off hwy 508 with a helo.

I-5 closes in Lewis County, could also close in Fife

Interstate 5 has closed from Grand Mound to Exit 68, south of Centralia, cutting off travel on the main north-south road between Olympia and Portland.

When I-5 closed because of flooding in Lewis County in December 2007, drivers were detoured through Yakima and onto Interstate 90. This time, I-90 is closed because of avalanche danger.

It's the only access point to turn around, go east to Tenino, go south on Old 99 if passable or turn around and go back north.
