Sorry if I missed this (I did do a search of the forum) but while I know how to start recording, I do not know how to save a recording for future listening or to pull off the sd card and save on my computer.

Just connect the scanner to your PC, open the folder on your computer (like you would on a flash drive). Should show up as a Removable Disk. Then Click BCDx36HP folder. Then audio folder. Then user_rec folder. Your recorded files are there. You can copy or cut them out of that folder onto your PC.

Is there no way to save a recording that you have made, with a unique name that you could then using your procedure download at a later time?

Not onboard the scanner. You can pull it from the scanner via the PC and name it whatever you want.
