Redstone P25

I submitted a change.

I was in Huntsville all last week and found that the Redstone system is not on the air at all. Monitored from varying locations (including Providence Village, the airport area, down 231 on the east side, the NCETR facility and the Capano Range) and nothing heard at all.

The NASA MSFC system has quite a few more talkgroups than I'd expect (84), and I also found quite a few encrypted unknowns on AIRS from the Huntsville simulcast site that ran in sequential order.

My findings are compiled over on Intercept.

I plan on going back so I'm looking for input from the crowd.

For clarity, the only control channels on the air in the federal spectrum were the NASA/MSFC system and the TVA system.

Pretty sure NASA & Redstone are combined on a single P-25 system now.

Yes, Redstone/NASA has been on this system for quite some time. I was the one that discovered the Madkin Mountain site back in 2019. If my memory serves me correctly, they were transitioning from the Motorola System to the new P25 system at that time, and some TGs were simulcasted on both systems (although most everything was encrypted, of course).
