One of the features I really liked on my PSR-500 was the instant recall of the last heard frequency or talkgroup just by pushing a button.
When I scan for mil air with my BCT15X...often times the transmissions are so short that I miss who did the talking, mostly because I was looking somewhere else at the time. And yes I have ProScan and yes I have used it to log hits, but I don't want to tie up my laptop and honestly I prefer to build non-traditional-computer solutions that are just power up and go.
So I wrote some Arduino code which reads the streaming data from the scanner's serial port. It parses the data and will persist the frequency / alpha tag / system of the last heard transmission on the display. Not to mention the display is much brighter and overall better than the BCT15X.
