Hullo.
Should I decide to repair my SDS100 im wondering if I have any options to repair my scanner aside from Uniden in Texas.

I have a broken scolling button that wasn't working well to begin with and I would need to replace a broken latch to close the battery.

I'm in Canada, Ive heard some stories about Uniden charging $50 USD for shipping which is ridiculous, I used to run warehouses, I know what it costs to move merchandise to and from anyplace in the world.

Is there anyone beside Uniden that does repairs?

Any advice, sharing experiences would be appreciated.

Unfortunately haven't seen any, seems like no one does anymore in Canada. And a few who offer it were actually just shipping it to Uniden for you, basically, unfortunately. Slim to nothing on picks.

I called them today, $119 USD for repair. I figure it will end up costing me about $30-40 to get it to Texas.

I'd consider just selling it to someone who could fix it themselves but im probably moving back to Toronto next year and the SDS100 does a good job on the Toronto public safety system.

As an aside there are better aftermarket battery latches available on Ebay.
