BCD436HP/BCD536HP: Repair small scratches on display cover or getting a replacement screen cover?

Hello, after many years of frequent use, there are lots of tiny scratches on the case of my BCD436HP. The scratches on scanner body don't bother me, however, the scratches on display cover are slowly making the display less readable. Don't get me wrong - the display itself is in perfect condition, it's just the cover/case, which has scratches.
Did somebody manage to polish the display cover? Or is it better to replace it? And where to buy just the display cover, not the whole case (if possible at all)?
Thanks for any help.

EDIT: can't order the display case directly from Uniden as I am located in Europe :-(

The stuff they sell for restoring auto headlight bezels is probably your best bet. Test over the Uniden logo first...

I wondered if this was fixable. Will try each and report which worked best. Did try toothpaste, to no avail. Mine got worked over by TSA when they opened my suitcase for "inspection" and in the process broke my camera as well...….as the commercial said "doing what they do best".

And before anyone says it.....yes I know I should have had it carry on but that takes extra time and angst while they x-ray....then "inspect" them for functionality and wipe them for whatever they wipe them for.

At one time uniden was selling the parts for the 436 on their site. You may wanna go look and see if they still do, the housing, screen, clip etc

Hi, used polishing paste from local hardware store and worked well. Thanks all.
