One of the speakers went out on one of my Zetron Model 27's. I was able to pull the speaker out, it is dead and the unit works with a different speaker. I assume the coil is bad, it shows open with an ohmmeter.

Does anyone know of a source for a replacement? It is labeled (and listed in the service manual) "305-0021" and is supposed to be a 4 ohm, 5 watt 3 inch speaker.

Are you looking for OEM replacement or just anything? Because there’s plenty of 3 inch speakers that meet your spec for sale so you would probably have a better idea than anyone here since you can see the one you have to compare with the listing images for one with similar shaped bracket to fit.

I would prefer an OEM or direct replacement communications speaker, but if not available I suppose any 4-ohm/5-watt/3-inch speaker that fits would work.

Well, I did the Amazon thing and bought this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DDKVBMQB

It arrived today and worked just fine. I bought it as a 2-pack so if needed I have another. The original speaker is on the left and the new one on the right.

While I was at it I added a set of RCA jacks. I had this in my junque box and used Ethernet cables to wire it to the connectors. I used long stove bolts as standoffs as I did not have any standard ones. I don't have the proper tools to cut a clean hole in the aluminum back panel so this will have to do.

After I was done I tested it for proper operation and it worked just fine.

I found two at a local hamfest here in the Phoenix area in December. I wonder if there were any in the flea market at Dayton? I didn't get a chance to get out there.

I appreciate the ease of working on the Zetron, the documentation includes most of the info one needs
