I know of 2 Places around Salisbury/Ocean City area...
Delmarva 2 Way Radio on Sunset Avenue in W.Ocean City
Caldabaugh Communications Snow Hill Rd. Salisbury
What I Think They Do is Open The Minitor and Pop out and Replace The Frequency
Chip and Put in What Ever Fire Dept You would like to Have. They Would
Put in These Little Crystals For That Particular Department.

This is To Answer The Question For MCMD5

Minitors

To re-program the Minitor I and II, the crystal must be replaced with the crystal of the desired frequency, and depending how far apart the frequencies are, it could possibly need to be re-aligned with a service monitor. These pagers also required a pair of "vibrasponders" or reeds which had to be changed to work with your departments paging tones.

The Minitor III and IV pagers are completely synthesized. The pager must be taken to a Motorola service facility and reprogrammed by someone with radio service software and the hardware which interfaces with a computer ( often called a pager RIB and the compatible cradle). You should ask around. Sometimes there are folks within the fire department with this equipment that will program it free of charge. I believe Motorola charges $35. You can also purchase this programming equipment on your own but it's costly. The pager RIB (universal) runs for around $175. Add another $125 for the cradle... and $50 for the Minitor software from Motorola.
