Requesting New Buchanan County VA Scanner Frequency

A few thoughts on this

I programmed all 60 sites of the VSP stars radio system using arc 500 programming software into my RadioShack pro 197 scanner, and all talk groups for Wytheville, Salem, and the Buchanan County Sheriffs Office. Since I have done that, the only site that talk group 8001 (Buchannan County Sheriffs Office) is only keying up on frequency 161.875 (Big A Mtn). I have Check all CC set to yes on all sites. Arc 500 created 3 trunking systems. Any thoughts on this, besides too many sites programmed. I have Control Channel Info set to No in Global Settings.

My first thought was why in Win 500 did you continue to make changes to other data fields than what I recommended in my post of 12/31/15. I never recommended changing a setting for the control channel. I recommend you reset whatever setting(s) you made for the control channel to "default".

It appears the Buchanan Co. Sheriff TG 8001 is affiliated only with the Big A Mtn. site which is appropriate. Probably Grundy PD TG 8003 is affiliated only with the Elkins Branch site which also is approriate.

161.8750 mhz. is one of the two voice repeaters on Big A Mtn. If you are hearing TG 8001 then it is working.

Yes it's ok to send it to me but I just completed the 2016 W4UVV VFD 189 data files updates and am busy now responding to email inquiries. I will look at it later when I have time.

I sight checked the file you sent. As I expected you did not do as I recommended. Instead you created one big TSYS mixture of some STARS Division 4 cc & voice frequencies, which in my opinion, is a very bad idea. To save time instead of trying to fix what was sent I deleted both the "VA STARS" & "Buchanan Co." files and created a new file for you called "NEW STARS DIVISION 4". I created individual TSYS files with Division 4 only talkgroups for the Big A Mtn., Elkins Branch, East River Mtn., High Knob and Keen Mtn. STARS site. That is my personal preference for creating STARS sites. Others may do it differently which is fine. New STARS talkgroups not in the talkgroups list will display only the talkgroup number. I do not know what STARS sites you can receive. For those out of range a custom trunking table will not be created for that site(s).

At initial power on the W. VA trs (Scanlist 2), NEW STARS sites(all 5) (Scanlist 3) and your conventional Tazewell Co. frequencies (Scanlist 4) will scan. Manually deselect whichever file(s) you do not wish to scan. Scanlists 1 and 4 through 20 are empty. I recommend you delete "Buchanan Co." (Scanlist 1) & "Va. STARS" (Scanlist 1) files from your WIN500 files location so you won't accidently open them.

The NEW DIVISION 4 STARS file and CDN v2 WHCO files sent via an email attachment. FYI Win500 requires a particular CDN version WHQL (FTDI Drivers) for a file(s) transfer upload/download to/from the scanner. These FTDI drivers get changed from time to time which usually for me is prior to when I occasionally wish to do a file transfer upload/download which then requires going to the website and downloading/installing the required version of FTDI Drivers. Probably your ISP or anti-virus software is blocking them. I just sent them to you via another internet option. I received notice of a good transmission so soon you will receive an email providing a website link for downloading both files. I will receive an email automatically when you download them.

Does anyone out there have any new updated Frequencies for the Buchanan County Sheriffs Office P25 digital? I have programmed the sites that are on here for Big A Mountain and Elkins Branch? I have my Multi Site Mode set to Off and T Tables at Custom using the information that was provided on here and the information programmed into the T tables.
