I want to place a pair of attenna on my roof for ADS-B reception, 1x 1090 and 1x978MGHz. I used to be a cable contractor and I have miles of RG-6 I can use to wire the attena to my SDR receiver. Will this cable do well for these frequencies? I don't really want to buy the prefab cable they sell with the attena at $1.50ish/foot.

Thank you.

It will work fine. I used 50‘ of that for years. I also used a good antenna from DPD Productions and an inline filter/preamp Combo. LMR-400 coax will improve things, but if you’re mostly interested in aircraft nearby RG6 works and you’ll be happy.

Works fine, and I have a Scientific Atlanta drop amp on the antenna mast.

RG6 are what are used for satellite dishes that handles 750MHz-2000MHz but a good low noise amp will improve range by some 50% but using a SAW filter will be important to get rid of all cellular signals that could overload the amplifier and certainly the SDR receiver.
